Some audiences who had seen this film speculated Miyazaki wrote a story about his life in this film. As is often the case in Studio Ghibli’s productions, this film is packed metaphors.When a film is filled with metaphors, it often makes it challeng for viewers watching in a different language to grasp the underlying message behind the film. To fully appreciate these films the way it was intended, it’s often essential to understand the cultural context behind them.
